  • Beskrivelse: A poor and deeply indebted painter, Miltos Kourkoutoulis, manages to survive with great difficulty. Moreover, he also becomes the target of a very cunning servant, Popi, who wants to nab him because she has heard that he has inherited a great fortune. Miltos, however, is in love with Litsa, the daughter of Mr. Spyros Vardatrichas, the local taverna owner (who wants his daughter to marry a rich man). Litsa develops some suspicions about Popi and Miltos and considers leaving him, but she loves him quite a bit and so decides to leave things as they are. But when Popi learns that Miltos is not, in fact, a wealthy heir, she dumps him immediately. Fate finally smiles on Miltos – as his talent is suddenly recognized, and everything changes. No more poverty and misery. He becomes wealthy and, of course, marries Litsa.
